PENYULUHAN DAN PEMERIKSAAN PENYAKIT TIDAK MENULAR GRATIS DI PUSKESMAS SECURAI KECAMATAN BABALAN KABUPATEN LANGKAT

Non-communicable (degenerative) disease is a condition of premature decline
in cell function that causes a decrease in health status. The non-communicable
diseases include cardiovascular diseases related to increased blood pressure,
blood sugar, blood lipids, and gout due to increased uric acid levels. To
educate and detect non-communicable diseases early on, lecturers of the
Poltekkes Kemenkes Medan TLM Department conducted community service
on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in Securai village, Babalan sub-district, Langkat
Regency. The purpose of this activity is to provide counseling or education
about diabetes mellitus, uric acid, and cholesterol and how to prevent them,
and to check blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid levels in the community of
Securai Village, Babalan District, Langkat Regency. The results of the
examination on 61 people of Securai village community obtained 41% high
blood sugar levels, 19% high uric acid, and 38 high cholesterol levels. It is
necessary to carry out community service activities on an ongoing basis by
collaborating with related agencies.
